Midwikid - Like We Sposed Ta

Comparing decades is fun, so let’s do it: If Midwikid came out in 2012 they’d have their own bandcamp page, and one of the tags on it would be “Indiana.” Their associations with Kay Gee and Coo Coo Cal wouldn’t mean much today, but at least they’d have this No I.D. produced cut with a “where has that guy been!?” Jaheim.

They’d likely be posted on all of those blogs that have posts, be included in some amateur mixes, No I.D. compilations, and have a video with 1,000-8,000 views on youtube. But, “Like We Sposed Ta” is from 2002, and it will never be from 2012. They will never be able to capitalize on No I.D. being a household name (if your household is composed of just one 20-something male hip hop fan).

But they didn’t have this luxury. They merely put out a song that I really liked and forgot of and then remembered, and then repeated that pattern several more times. They’re not the best rappers, but who is? They had interesting voices, a catchy chorus, and a great second verse with a highly entertaining enunciation of “dow jones exchange.”

It’s OK “Like We Sposed Ta,” I like you for you. 2002 and all.
